ABOUT THE PROJECT
This editorial redesign was created as a two-person collaboration between a graphic designer and an illustrator. The goal was to transform an existing article into an engaging editorial spread by combining illustration, typography, and thoughtful page composition.
My role as the graphic designer was to rename the article, organize the written content, develop the page layout, and integrate the illustrator’s artwork into the final spread. Together, we created a cohesive design that balances visual storytelling with readability.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
The layout was designed around the relationship between the article and the illustrator’s artwork. I established the typographic hierarchy, organized the article content, and determined how the illustration would interact with the headline and body copy.
The challenge was giving the illustration enough visual impact while maintaining a balanced, readable editorial layout. Through collaboration, the final spread brings the written and illustrated elements together as one cohesive composition.
